Woody Guthrie & The Yiddish Connection

Nora Guthrie, daughter of legendary folksinger and activist Woody Guthrie, discusses the artistic implications of her father’s relationship with his Jewish mother-in-law, Yiddish poet Aliza Greenblatt.

“HOLY GROUND” includes a presentation of photographs, musical excerpts from The Klezmatics’ 2-cd set of Woody’s songs Wonder Wheel and Happy Joyous Hanukkah, plus writings & artwork that illuminate their personal and creative relationship.

Nora Guthrie is the Director of the Woody Guthrie Foundation & Archives, and President of Woody Guthrie Publications, Inc. In addition to managing the project to archive and preserve the personal materials and original creative works of her father, Ms. Guthrie develops and produces artistic projects which continue to introduce the public to Woody Guthrie's vast cultural lsvopegacy.
