Weekend Happenings: Barbecue, Blintzes, Bikes and Bouncy Houses

Enjoy a fun-filled weekend and stay close to home.

When/Where: Friday at 5 p.m. at Wayland Town Beach, 27 Parkland Drive, Wayland.

The Buzz: This annual Wayland Children and Parents Association event was rescheduled from the spring due to weather. That means you have a second chance to head to the beach for an evening of food, music and general good times.

When/Where: Saturday at 10 a.m. The tour will begin at Wolbach Farm (18 Wolbach Road, Sudbury).

The Buzz: This is a casual bike tour consisting of a 15-20 mile ride to Sudbury Valley Trustee conservation lands in Sudbury and Wayland. At each location, participants will take short guided walks. The ride is appropriate for all ages and abilities.

Price: SVT members, free; non-members, $10. Register online.

When/Where: Sunday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 472 Massachusetts Ave, Acton.

The Buzz: A bouncy house and inflatable obstacle course meets free hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn and ice cream -- what more could you ask for? This event serves as a kickoff for Mt. Calvary's fall programs and the community is invited.

Price: Free

When/Where: Sunday at 9 a.m. at Congregation Or Atid, 97 Concord Road, Wayland.

The Buzz: Weston cable station star cook and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America Paula Waxman will demonstrate how to create sweet and savory blintzes from scratch. Recipes and lunch will be provided.
