Advantages to Spring-Like Weather

Spring seems to have come early to Weston. Although snow lovers are disappointed, there are some advantages to the unseasonably warm weather.

From the look of things, it is really hard to believe that February has begun. Of course, those who enjoy skiing and other winter activities may be disappointed, but there are some benefits to the unseasonably warm weather:

  1. The high school science lab project is on schedule.
  2. Builders who are constructing new houses in town are moving along.
  3. There are fewer "fender benders" in the high school parking lot due to ice.
  4. Everyone's snow plow bill is lower than last year at this time.
  5. More homes have sold this January (9) than last January (6).
  6. In general, people seem to be in a better mood with the great weather!

In regards to the real estate market, it almost feels as though the spring market has already begun.  As of this writing, there are 76 homes for sale in Weston, and already seven of these have accepted offers from buyers. Also, there are 15 homes under agreement (a signed Purchase and Sale Agreement) with anticipated sale dates in February and March. It is safe to say that 2012 already looks like it will be more robust than 2011. If you have been waiting on the sidelines to put your house on the market, this may be the time to take action.
