Why Go: The Weston Friendly Society of the Performing Arts, Inc., is the second oldest theater group in the United States, and has a rich history of putting on quality musicals for audiences from all over the state.

Price: $18-24. Tickets are often available at the door but reservations are strongly encouraged.

Santa Arrives on a Tractor

Scott's Party

When/Where: Friday at 9 p.m. at Bistro 20, 120 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury.

Why Go: You'll likely be tired of cooking by this point so let someone else provide the food while you mingle with friends and celebrate the life of 1st Lt. Scott Milley, killed while serving in Afghanistan. Plus, your coverage charge supports the Scott F. Milley Memorial Fund.

2011 Acton Turkey Trot 5K Race and Family Fun Run/Walk

When/Where: Friday at R.J. Grey Junior High School, 16 Charter Rd, Acton. Number pickup begins at 8 a.m. and the race steps off at 9 a.m.

Why Go: Don't lie. You know a morning 5K wouldn't hurt after all that holiday bounty you consumed. Plus, in this case you'll be supporting two good causes: Your own healthy body and the Acton Food Pantry. Even if you didn't register in advance, there's no harm in running along.
