"The New Jim Crow" required reading

Michelle Alexander's fact based book "The New Jim Crow" should be required reading for all who hold elected or appointed office in our land.
If Dr. King were alive today, he would be speaking out on the national disgrace of mass incarceration.  
One out of every 100 adult Americans is behind bars, and the vast majority are black men and women convicted of non-violent "crimes" in the "War on Drugs." 
If you abhor injustice, read this book and ask your representatives to do the same.  
Professor Alexander's message needs to be heard by all Americans, most especially by those who are in a position to do something about it.
