Weston Democrats will Caucus to Select 2014 Convention Delegates on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1 pm at the Weston Library

WESTON – Democrats in Weston will hold a caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2014 Endorsing Convention on February 8th, 2014 at 1 pm at the Weston Library, Community Room. All registered Democrats in Weston are eligible to participate, provided that they are a registered Democrat by January 31st .  The 2014 Caucus will be especially important since all of the Commonwealth's Constitutional positions will be vacant this time.

The caucus is open to the press.

At our 2014 convention, the delegates selected by Weston Democrats will endorse statewide candidates for the 2014 elections, catch up and network with other organizers around the Commonwealth and hear from some exciting future leaders of our party,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Thomas McGee.

BACKGROUND: Delegates to the 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Party Endorsing Convention where candidates for our statewide offices will seek to earn the nomination of party delegates.. The convention will be held on Saturday, June 13 in Worcester.

Starting this year, the Massachusetts Democratic Party will also hold a Youth Convention for high school organizers.

The Weston Democratic Caucus will elect 7 delegates and 3 alternates to the 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Those not elected as Delegate and/or Alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority, and disabled.
