6-Year-Old Dies From Crash Injuries on Mass Pike

A woman and two children were seriously injured in a crash on Route 90 earlier Thursday evening. The six-year-old died from her injuries Thursday night at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating a serious single-vehicle crash on Route 90 in Natick, which put all three passengers, including two children in the hospital. The 6-year-old girl who was in the car died Thursday night at Massachusetts General Hospital from injuries she received during the crash.

Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, a 2002 Acura RSX driving eastbound in the left lane near mile marker 118 crossed all three lanes and went off an embankment on the right and rolled over three times before landing upright on its tires, according to a preliminary investigation by police.

The driver, Jennifer J. Ortiz of Framingham, was ejected from the vehicle along with two other female passengers, a 5 and 6-year-old. Troopers from Weston who arrived on the scene determined that the 6-year-old child was not breathing, but was revived by a doctor who was passing by the scene. All three passengers were brought to Massachusetts General Hospital, where the 6-year-old was later pronounced dead.
