Brandeis Railroad Replacement Project to Cause Detours in Weston

Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company will be replacing tracks at Brandeis next week, but it may affect your commute.

The state is replacing the train tracks near Brandeis University next week, which will cause a road blockage for at least 36 hours next weekend.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, MBCR will replace the deteriorating tracks at the Brandeis/Roberts Commuter Rail Station. As such, northbound traffic on River Road will be detoured onto Summer Street to Route 20, according to a Waltham Police statement.

A portion of South Street will be closed, according to Lt. John Lyons of the Weston Police Department.
