UPDATED: Car reportedly on fire on westbound Mass Pike
State police say the scene is clear.
[Updated 6:12 p.m.] A Massachusetts State Police spokesman said the car fire scene on the Massachusetts Turnpike near the Weston toll booth has been completely cleared.
No injuries were reported. The spokesman said the car fire was due to an unknown mechanical failure.
According to several Twitter feeds, there had been a car on fire on the westbound side of the Pike.

What had been said to be a 'fully-engulfed vehicle fire' was, according to the tweeters, in the breakdown lane.
