OMGPD: Guy Grabs Back Stolen Credit Card, Failed Shoplifting Scam & More

"Fooled you once..."

A man was arrested at the Target in Watertown after he tried the same scam twice. He bought a blender, then took it to the parking lot and returned with the receipt. Then he took an identical blender off the shelf and left with it. On Tuesday, June 19, Max Comjean, 18, of 3 Deacon Hunt Drive, Acton, and John Williams, 21, of 47 Drummer Road, Acton, were caught red-handed using a stolen credit card at . Here is what is a bit crazy and courageous: the man whose credit card was stolen was notified by American Express that his card was being used at Kmart and decided to take action in his own hands, literally. Instead of informing the police, Michael Plate rushed to Kmart and grabbed his credit card right from the hands of John Williams. Read more here: http://patch.com/A-v7Pq

In Needham, a set of kitchen cabinets was reported stolen from an Edwardel Road residence on Thursday, June 21 at around 4:19 p.m. A general contractor working at the home told police that his supplier probably took the cabinets to ensure payment at the end of the week for the remainder of the work to be done. The contractor told police he just wanted the missing cabinets returned: 

"We needed them in case it gets really hot this weekend." 

Also on Tuesday in Needham, fire extinguishers were reported stolen from a Charles Street business. An employee at Kerivan Lane, 30 Charles St., told police that the items had been taken at around 3:09 a.m. — and provided security footage of the theft: 


Too drunk to bike?

On Tuesday evening the Sudbury Police Department responded to 452 Concord Road after receiving a report a bicyclist fell from his bike. Upon arriving, it was determined the bicyclist, a 47-year-old resident, was intoxicated and transported to Emerson Hospital for treatment. After being released from Emerson, he was placed into protective custody by Sudbury police. He was turned over to his mother at 7:09 p.m.: http://patch.com/A-vCPq
