Waltham Police arrested a 61-year-old Medford woman for allegedly stealing an iPhone from a 12-year-old girl in during church services in Arlington last weekend. The girl told police she left her belongings, including her phone, in the back room of St. Camillus Church during the 9 a.m. service in which she was an alter server. Using an app, the girl and her father were able to track her phone to Waltham, where they called police. http://patch.com/A-2HmM

Pulled over in a stolen car

Newton Police attempted to pull over a driver on March 6 after clocking him at 37 mph in a 25 mph zone on Walnut Street. After a short chase, police found the car slowly rolling with the driver's side door open, and the driver gone. Police found the car had been stolen out of the Newton Free Library parking lot on March 1. Newton Police and the department's K9 unit searched the area, but did not find the driver. http://patch.com/A-29r2

Don't Drink and Drive, Especially into a Police Cruiser

On March 6, as a police cruiser was overseeing a detail on Rte. 9 Eastbound with a National Grid crew. The officer and cruiser were behind a cone cordon on the work site, when another vehicle drove into the cordoned-off area and into the police cruiser. Both the driver and the officer were transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Wellesley Police arrested William Spence, 35, of Malden and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol, plus additional offenses. http://patch.com/A-2HsP

You Have to Pay for Plowing?

On Sunday, March 10, a resident of West Street in Needham reported receiving several harrassing phone calls, at about 5:15 p.m. Police learned that the calls were related to a plow driver seeking payment. Officers told them to settle it in court.

Don't Cook That

A Concord resident called police on March 4 to request assistance with a mouse on her stove. Police relayed the report to animal control to handle. http://patch.com/A-2BCS

More Than Just a Fish Wrap 

In Concord on March 5, a resident called to complain about cars speeding down his street between 7 and 7:30 a.m. A Boston man later came into the station to report the initial caller jumped in front of his car waving a newspaper in an attempt to slow him down. http://patch.com/A-2CCJ

House Cat Vs. Much Bigger Cat

In Lexington on March 4, an Appletree Lane resident reported a standoff between a fisher and her domestic cat in the backyard. http://patch.com/A-2CYG
