Saturday Vehicle Accident Cut Power to Small Number of Residents

An Saturday afternoon accident brought down a couple of utility poles.

No one was injured in a Saturday afternoon accident that left a few Weston residents without power for a time.

According to Weston Police, officers responded to a single-car crash near 430 South Avenue at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday. They arrived to find two utility poles down in the street, but no one injured.

Police say that Robert Ssebbowa of Framingham was headed east on South Avenue when his car went off the right side of the road and struck a pole. It appears that the single pole the car struck pulled another pole down with it.

The incident appears to have been purely accidental and no one was injured. The street was blocked and power was out to some surrounding residents as a result of the accident.
