Weston Man Clocked Speeding in New Hampshire

Adel Malek was arrested on I-89, allegedly driving 118 mph.

A local man was arrested on Sunday by New Hampshire State Police on a reckless driving charge.

Adel M. Malek, 48 of Weston, was arrested at a little before 1 p.m. on June 8, according to a press statement from the state police, allegedly driving 118 mph in in a 2011 Audi A8 on I-89.

State Police aircraft clocked Malek in the town of Grantham and a trooper on the ground stopped and arrested him.

Malek is due to appear in the Newport District Court to answer to the charge, according to police.

The air and ground team is part of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit that “regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors.” The troopers patrol the state’s highways in the air during holiday and heavy commuting traffic periods, looking for violators, “with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.”
