Weston Police, Fire Respond to Broken Gas Line

Landscapers accidentally break line at residence; no injuries.

A landscaping crew working at 90 Oak St. in Weston broke a gas line, sending both the Weston Police and Fire departments to the scene. No injuries were reported.

According to Sgt. Thomas Kelly of the Weston Police, both police, fire and National Grid were dispatched to the residence at 11:18 a.m. after contractors accidentally nicked the line, which was "quickly" remedied because the main shut-off is outside of the house.

Paul Miskovsky, owner of the landscaping company on the scene, said "poor markings" were likely the cause of the accident.

"It's an older pipe and it's a foot or less from the surface, and not marked," he said, adding that neither crew members nor the residents were hurt. "(Police and fire) responded quickly. All is well."
