Governor Appoints Weston Resident to State Commission

Gov. Deval Patrick tapped a Weston woman to serve on the Special Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure Commission.

Gov. Deval Patrick selected Weston businesswoman Valerie Mosley among his appointments to the Special Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure Commission.

"These highly-qualified leaders will provide critical early input to ensure that transportation investments are made wisely,” said Patrick.

According to a release from the governor's office, Patrick appointed four members, including Mosley, to the commission, while one member each was appointed by Senate President Therese Murray, House Speaker Robert DeLeo and State Treasurer Steve Grossman.

"The seven-member legislatively-mandated commission reviews and approves all public-private partnership transportation infrastructure requests for proposals for design-build-finance-operate-maintain contract services," the press release reads.

Mosley is the chairwoman and CEO of Valmo Ventures. She is retired from her position as partner, senior vice president and investment strategist at Wellington Management Company, LLP.

Patrick's additional appointees include:

  • Congressman John W. Olver, Amherst
  • Joseph P. Dorant, Saugus
  • Alan G. Macdonald, Winchester

The three members appointed by Murray, DeLeo and Grossman include:

  • David Luberoff (appointed by Murray)
  • John Vitagliano (appointed by DeLeo)
  • Jessica Strunkin (appointed by Grossman)
