Merriam Street Bridge Will Be Closed Longer Than Expected

The bridge will be closed until Oct. 31.

Bad news commuters – the Merriam Street Bridge will be closed until Oct. 31 because of additional structural repairs needed.

The need for more repairs was “not discovered prior to the bridge deck dismantling,” according to the Town of Weston.

“The lead time on acquiring the specialized wooden stringers and other structural components has necessitated this more realistic opening date for the bridge. This date could change based on weather or other circumstances beyond our control.”
