Selectmen to Hold Property Tax Classification Hearing

The Board of Selectmen is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Weston Town Hall.

The Weston Board of Selectmen tonight will hear from the Board of Assessors regarding its thoughts on Weston's property tax classification for 2013.

Each year, the Board of Selectmen must set the town's tax rate and determine whether to set different rates for residential and commercial property.

Currently, Weston's tax rate is the same for all property and is set at $12.11 per $1,000 in valuation. The Board of Assessors has completed its preliminary assessments for 2012, and those values are available online.
