Town Needs Volunteers for Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee

The committee has one opening for an architect or civil engineer.

The Town of Weston is seeking an interested resident to serve on the Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee.

In 2005 the Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee was created to serve as a single focal point for the recreational use and improvements for Town and School fields.

Specifically, the Committee was charged with the following goals:

  • Develop and maintain a 10-year Master Plan for the Town of Weston for the creation, use, and maintenance of fields and facilities to be used for recreational purposes.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Master Plan including the bidding, procurement, and construction in coordination with the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen.
  • Communicate the prioritized Master Plan schedule to the community, including potential funding sources and special interest groups.

With the recent resignation of a voting member from the Committee, the Town of Weston is seeking candidates for the following membership slot:

Architectural/Civil Engineering Member: This candidate should have a background in either architectural or civil engineering in order to assist the Committee in implementing and coordinating projects with the various contractor and designers.
