Town Seeking Candidates to Fill Planning Board Vacancy

The Weston Planning Board has an opening.

Weston is seeking applications from individuals interested in filling a vacancy on the Planning Board.

According to an announcement, the vacancy was created by a recent resignation and the the Board of Selectmen and Planning Board will vote on the person to fill the vacancy until the May 2013 election.

"Candidates for this position should be willing to run for election in May 2013, for the term expiring May 2017," according to the announcement.

The Planning Board is comprised of five residents and it generally meets twice a month. Additional meetings are sometimes necessary. The board is responsible  for "the review of land division as well as review of specific development proposals."

Letters of interest are due to the Board of Selectmen by Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. Letters of interest should include background information and can be submitted via email to selectmen@westonmass.org or by mail to the Town of Weston, Board of Selectmen, P. O. Box 378, Weston, MA 02493.
