Warren, the first black mayor elected by popular vote in Massachusetts, has over two decades in public service. He spent more than 10 years in the federal government as a White House staff member during the Clinton administration, the head of FEMA in New England, then as U.S. Sen. John Kerry’s (D-Mass.) point person on small business in Massachusetts. Warren spent 11 months serving in the Iraq war as an intelligence officer in the Naval Reserve.
"I'm a mayor with a successful track record of saving my community money and making sure we are on the right path financially, through savings we found $8 million in the last two budget cycles and getting union contracts in place that will save the city $6.5 million," he said. "I'm an Iraq War veteran, which gives me a unique perspective and vision of foreign policy as well as defense issues and defense spending."

As a U.S. senator, Setti promises to bring the same sense of shared responsibility, fiscal discipline, open communication and leadership to Washington that has marked his tenure as mayor – and his entire career in public service. "I believe I’m the best candidate to go toe to toe with Scott Brown on the campaign trail," he said.
Mayor Warren’s previous meeting with the WDTC scheduled for June 1 was delayed for a good reason. He and his wife Tacy had a new baby boy!
