Weston Democrats Elect Delegates to 2012 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention

Delegates chosen at weekend caucus.

Weston Democrats elected six delegates and three alternates to represent Weston at the 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Convention in Springfield, Mass. on June 2.

Elected this weekend at caucus at Weston Public Library to represent Weston at the convention were Beverly Foster, Jacqueline Haas, Sandra Rahman, John Carlton-Foss, John Hennessey and Alan Orth. Elected as alternate delegates were Lisa Paborsky, Habib Rahman, and Isabella Jancourtz.  Also attending as ex-officio delegates will be Joe Mullin and Nazda Alam, attending in their roles as members of the Democratic State Committee.

At the convention, delegates from across the state will vote to endorse a candidate for United States Senate and decide which candidates appear on the primary ballot to defeat Scott Brown.

“This was the first time I was elected to go to the convention,” said Lisa Paborsky. “I’m really looking forward to meeting Democrats from across the state."

“I was impressed with the number of people who participated in the caucus,” said Committee Chair Jacqueline Haas. “We had both longtime Democrats and people for whom this was their first caucus.”

The Weston Democratic Town Committee is the local unit of the Democratic Party. They meet regularly throughout the year and their meetings are open to anyone who is interested.
