Weston Democrats to Hold Caucus to Elect Delegates

Feb. 11 caucus at Weston Public Library will elect six delegates and three alternates to 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Nominating Convention for U.S. Senate Democratic Primary.

Convention delegates nominate candidates for 2012 U.S. Senate Democratic Primary. Democrats in Weston will hold a caucus Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Weston Public Library Community Room, 87 School Street, Weston, to elect six delegates and three alternates to the 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Nominating Convention.

Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Delegates to the convention will select candidates to compete for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. The convention will be held on June 2 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield. All Weston residents registered as Democrats in Weston as of Dec. 31, 2011, are eligible to vote in the caucus and run to be a delegate or alternate to the convention. Ballots will be written and secret.  

Those not elected as delegate and/or alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority and disabled.
