New Student Orientation Canceled For Tuesday

Due to a power outage at the high school, ninth grade and new student orientation is canceled.

Superintendent Cheryl Maloney has announced that ninth grade and new student orientation at the high school has been canceled for Tuesday, Aug. 30, due to a power outage at the school caused by Tropical Storm Irene.

"As a result of Hurricane Irene, we lost power at the Middle and High Schools on Sunday. In response to our calls, NSTAR has stated that its crews are overwhelmed and it appears unlikely that power will be restored by tomorrow morning," wrote Maloney in an email message.

She asked that people spread the word as much as possible to make sure everyone who needs to know is made aware, as some people may not have power themselves.
