The top 10 students in the preliminary round moved on to the school-wide Geography Bee.

The information below was submitted by Field School Principal Matt Lucey.

The grade 4 and 5 students of the Field School recently participated in the 25th Annual National Geography Bee, a nationwide contest open to students in grades 4-8.

All students took part in the preliminary rounds of the Bee the week of Jan. 2 during class time. The top scoring students were invited to participate in the schoolwide Bee on Jan. 8. The finalists were Hayden Zeller, Tomily Torres, Brigitte Belanger, Ben Guzovsky, Alton Jenkins, Benjamin Chen, Debbie Lilly, Jonathan Enfield, Daniel Lydon and Josh Corbett.

Belanger went on to win the school Bee and will be given a qualifying test to determine if she will be moving on to the state Bee, and then perhaps, the national Bee. Lydon finished second in the school Bee round.
