Regis College Receives $50,000 Planning Grant

The grant is intended to help the Weston-based college enhance its life sciences training programs.

Regis College in Weston is the recipient of a $50,000 planning grant from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC).

The grant is intended to assist Regis College as the college works to enhance its "life sciences training programs."

"This planning grant will enable the college to develop studies that will further identify what types of life sciences resources would be most beneficial for its students," according to the MLSC press release. "MLSC funding will also allow Regis College to plan a much-needed transformation of its life sciences building into an efficient, state-of-the-art facility to prepare its students for employment in the life sciences industry.

Regis President Antoinette Hays said the she was thrilled with and grateful for the grant, explaining that it would help the college continue to pursue its vision for its life sciences programs.

"The life sciences field is a pillar of the Massachusetts economy, and is rapidly becoming an essential part of the national and worldwide marketplace,” Rep. Alice Peisch (D-Wellesley) added. "Today's grant award is a testament to Regis College’s commitment to preparing students for the global economy of the future through innovation and professional development."
