As the town continues to pry out from under Hurricane Sandy's destruction, Superintendent Cheryl Maloney has recommended trick-or-treating be pushed back.

As the town continues to pry out from under Hurricane Sandy’s destruction, Superintendent Cheryl Maloney has recommended trick-or-treating be pushed back.

The streets are still being cleaned up following Hurricane Sandy, and there are still several Weston residents without power. Though it’s Halloween, the school department wants you to wait until the weekend.

Superintendent Cheryl Maloney sent a message to residents yesterday asking them to push trick-or-treating activities to Friday, Nov. 2.

“We assume that the conditions on roads will improve by that time, but parents should be vigilant as to the safety of town roads for their children on Friday,” the message says.

Maloney also says there were thousands without power as of yesterday afternoon.
