Superintendent's Goals Approved and Released

Weston School Superintendent Cheryl Maloney recently released her annual goals document, which was approved by the School Committee last week.

The Weston School Committee recently approved Superintendent Cheryl Maloney's annual goals for 2011-2012, which include long-term goals from 2009 to 2013, as well as shorter-term goals for the 2011-2012 school year.

Maloney's report, which is available to download at right as well as to download from the schools' website, focuses on, for this year, hiring a new director of student services, addressing budget challenges for fiscal 2013 and some curriculum study.

Maloney writes in the report that the schools have accomplished a great deal since the original long-term action plan was written up in 2009.

"We have vastly improved the infrastructure of our technology, replaced the telephone system, expanded wireless capability, installed classroom tools, and launched a 1:1 pilot. We have several facilities projects in progress: the high school science labs, a new Field School, a new high school boiler and Case House traffic and parking plan," she said.

Maloney said she is also setting her sights on writing up a new longer-term plan for the next 10 years for the school district.
