Weston Education Enrichment Fund Committee: Nominate Your STAR Teachers

WEEFC Staff and Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program under way; math teacher/track coach John Monz first to be nominated.

There are many “stars” on staff within the Weston Public Schools, but now you will have an opportunity to recognize those special people who have had a positive impact on your children. WEEFC is pleased to announce its new Staff and Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) award program. These awards provide a means for families to show their appreciation to teachers and staff who have made a difference in the life of their student, whether at the holidays, end of the school year – or any time recognition seems warranted.

A family may honor multiple individuals with a single donation, and all employees of the Weston schools, past and present, are eligible to receive STAR awards. All award recipients will receive a certificate acknowledging their service and dedication, and each certificate will note the student and family recognizing the recipient. Monies raised through this program will support WEEFC-sponsored professional development grants. At the end of the school year, recipients of STAR awards will be entered into a drawing for valuable gift certificates.

The first recipient of the STAR award, Weston High School math teacher and track coach John Monz, said, “WEEFC does a lot of great things for our schools. It’s nice to be recognized, and if I can help them raise some money in the process, so much the better.”

Honor a teacher today, and purchase a STAR award online, or download a donation form from the Weston Public Schools website. All donations to this program are tax-deductible.
