Weston High School Quiz Show Team to Compete This Weekend

Weston residents encouraged to attend taping.

Weston High School will compete with Shrewsbury High School in High School Quiz Show on Sunday afternoon, with the team expected to arrive at 2:45 p.m. and taping to begin at 3:45 p.m.

All shows are taped in front of a live audience at WGBH Studios on 1 Guest St., Brighton, and supporters are encouraged to be part of the live audience that day. Interested Weston residents can register at highschoolquizshow.org.

Winners of these rounds will move on to quarter and semifinal rounds. All episodes premiere Sundays at 6:30 p.m. (repeating Saturdays at 6 p.m,) on WGBH 2, with the episode featuring WHS expected to air on April 1.

High School Quiz Show is a single-elimination bracketed academic tournament, featuring qualifying matches, quarterfinals and semifinals, all leading up to a Massachusetts championship match.

High School Quiz Show is endorsed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This year, The Princeton Review will judge the televised competition and help the DESE vet the questions. All questions are aligned with the Massachusetts high school curriculum standards in subjects including literature, history, science, and math, as well as current events and general knowledge.
