Weston High Theater Company Headed to State Finals

The Weston High School Theater Company will cap off a stellar run for its original production "Jigsaw" with a performance next weekend in the Massachusetts Drama Festival Finals in Boston.

The play, written and performed by 21 student actors, tells "the story of a family broken apart by crisis and the extraordinary steps that eventually bring it back together," according to the theater company's webpage.

On March 9, Weston High School played host to a regional semifinal competition in the festival. Weston's play was selected to advance to the finals and Max Alagna, Grace Harper and Miranda Burrage-Goodwin received Acting Awards; Becky Jesurum received a Technical Award for Excellence in Lighting Design; and Odin Enzmann received a Technical Award for Excellence in Sound Design, according to an announcement.

On Friday, March 22, the WHS Theater Company will take "Jigsaw" to Boston's John Hancock Hall, at the corner of Stuart and Berkeley streets. Weston is scheduled to perform its 35-minute play at 8 p.m.

Tickets went on sale March 14 and can be purchased online. Tickets will be available at the door based on availability. Tickets can be purchased for only "Jigsaw," the Friday section featuring Weston's play, or the entire weekend of shows (Thursday through Saturday).

"Jigsaw" will also be performed Wednesday, March 20, at the Weston High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 with all proceeds going to Samaritans, a organization that works to prevent teen suicide.
