Weston Public Schools Will Be Open Monday, Feb. 11

Students will head back to their classrooms following the snow storm.

Weston Public Schools Superintendent Cheryl Maloney has made the decision to re-open schools at the regular time on Monday, Feb. 11, after closing them on Friday, Feb. 8, ahead of a forecasted snow storm.

According to an announcement, Maloney toured all five schools before making the decision and also drove Weston's roads with Weston Police Sgt. Thomas Kelly.

The announcement from Maloney indicates that safety is a top priority and asks that parents monitor their children while waiting for the school bus.

"Many of the town roads are down to blacktop and the DPW is continuing to clear and widen streets and address corner visibility concerns," the announcement reads. "However, all students and drivers should proceed with care and take extra caution around snow banks."

Maloney's annoucement recommends that new and inexperience high school drivers not drive to school Monday.
