Weston Students to Perform in Rivers School Concerts

Rivers School Conservatory to Host Young Artists Recital, Capriccio Chorus Concert.

The Rivers School Conservatory will host several upcoming performances featuring Weston students. The first, a Young Artists Recital, will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Rivera Recital Hall inside Bradley Hall at 333 Winter Street, Weston.

Students from around the Greater Boston area will perform a variety of pieces including music by Beethoven, Brahms, Heifetz, Ibert, Lalo, and Tchaikovsky. There will be performances by The Rivers School Conservatory’s Wind Quintet, Piano Trio, and Piano Quartet. Members of Wind Quartet include Eve Roth, flute (Wellesley); Michael Rolincik, oboe (Wellelsey); Ryan Budnick, clarinet (Wayland); Bobby Li, bassoon (Carlisle); and Ted Morin, horn (Needham). Members of the Piano Trio include Olivia Kim, violin (Newton); Leland Ko, cello (Weston); and Kadar Qian, piano (Westford). Members of the Piano Quartet include Melanie Snider, violin (Newton); Katya Checkovich, viola (Weston); Laura Cooke, cello (Auburndale); and George Teng, piano (Wellesley). Additionally, Daniel Glauber of Weston will be featured on marimba and Andrew Laven of Wayland will be featured on cello.

The Rivers School Conservatory’s Capriccio Chorus will perform a concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. The concert will also be held in Rivera Recital Hall inside Bradley Hall and will include five performers from Weston.

The choir performs a wide variety of repertoire ranging from American music in the Broadway, jazz, and folk genres to folk music from cultures throughout the world. Members have the opportunity to develop their voices in a welcoming setting, complementing their school or church choruses or other music groups.

The Capriccio Chorus is a performing ensemble for student singers ages 10 through 15. It is currently comprised of 22 young musicians: Caroline Burke, Anika Joglekar, Jennifer Levin, Caitlyn Tabors, and Helen Townsend of Weston; Riya Shukla, Marijke Perry, and Megan Kaye of Wellesley; Ana Shaughnessy, Lindsay Nielsen, Catriona Morris, and Harrison Cohen-Harding of Sudbury; Ben Schwartz, Gwyneth Neal Reilly, Ashlyn Neal Reilly, Trevor Ludlam, and William Egan of Framingham; Sidney Coffman of Natick; Sophie Flomenbaum of Lincoln; Ryan Henderson of Ashland; Ariana Hughes of Cambridge; and Jen Piekarz of Southborough.
