Boys Soccer Edged Out by Wayland

Pascual-Leone brothers lead the Warriors.

Nico Pascual-Leone had a hat-trick as the Wayland boys soccer team edged Weston, 4-3, in a battle of Dual County League teams last night.

Pascual-Leone scored his three goals in the first half, while his younger brother Andres Pascual-Leone notched the game winner to send the Warriors to a perfect 2-0 in the DCL and 3-3 overall.

Weston dropped to 2-4 with the loss.

“Whenever we play Weston it’s a battle,” Wayland coach Dave Gavron said. “They are a hard working team that makes us maintain our focus for as much as possible.”

Weston broke a 1-1 tie with a a goal by senior captain Kyle Kachadurian. Adam Guerin notched the first strike of the game for the Wildcats.

However, Wayland would grab the next three goals on the foot of the brothers Pascual-Leone.

Weston head coach Tommy McHenry said that the chances were there to get on the board after going down, but sometimes the ball just doesn't find the back of the net.

“We just weren’t able to find that goal,” McHenry said.

The two brothers from Spain have made life a little bit easier for the Wayland coaching staff.

“It’s great because they are not playing side by side or near each other, but the team has done a wonderful job of blending them together,” Gavron said.
