Five Questions for Wildcats Quarterback Jarett Rowe
Patch sat down with Rowe for 5 questions on Friday night.
Patch: How has the season been going?
Jarett Rowe, Wildcats football quarterback: We started out not how we wanted with a loss, but then we came back with a good victory against Bishop Fenwick. We kind of went in a slump again. But, I mean, I think we are still trying to find ourselves as a team because we lost a lot of guys from last year. So we’re still trying to get comfortable with each other. I think that this might be a good kicking off point for us.
Patch: Personally, how has your season been going?
Rowe: I think it has been going all right. It can be better. I think they’re are a lot of little things I need to be working on, making sure I keep control of the ball, not turning it over as much.
Patch: Being a senior, what has been your most memorable moment over the years playing football?
Rowe: I’d say when we went out for a team breakfast at IHOP, actually. We all went there as a team, just like a big family. It was just a lot of fun, you know. I think that really helped us come together.
Patch: What does it entail being a captain of this team?
Rowe: Well, last year being the quarterback, that was the first year I had to step up being a leader for the first time. And this year being a captain and a senior, it’s much more different than I thought it was going to be. I have had to step up much more than I thought. I was kind of a silent leader last year and I have had to be more vocal. And I’ve been trying to help as many guys as I can, like with the young guys and what not.
Patch: What do you hope to do with the remainder of the season?
Rowe: I just want to end with a winning season at this point. We haven’t started well, as I said before, but I would really like to end my senior year with a winning season. And the Thanksgiving [Day game], I’m really looking forward to that.
