Rivers School Athlete Nominated for McDonald's All American Games

The Weston student is one of just three athletes from the Boston area to be nominated.

McDonald’s has announced its list of 814 prep seniors who have been nominated to play in the 2013 McDonald’s All American Games and The River School’s Emilee Daley is on the list. This year’s list boasts players from 39 states and the District of Columbia who have been selected by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee.

Only three players hail from the Boston area, all are female. The other two local players nominated for the 2013 Games are Kayla Burton from Newton South High School in Newton and Sarah Hope from Medway High School in Medway.

A complete list of 2013 McDonald’s All American Games nominees is available at www.mcdaag.com. The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls who will be selected to play in the 2013 Games will be announced during the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on February 14 at 5:00 p.m. ET. 

“Our region continues to produce elite basketball talent and Emilee Daley’s nomination signifies the hard work and dedication of our young athletes. They contribute to their schools, the community and the game,” said Nicole DiNoia, Communications Manager for McDonald’s Boston Region.  “The McDonald’s All American Games present the opportunity to preview the country’s up and coming basketball talent, and we’re excited to have our region represented by these extraordinary student athletes.”

The 36th Annual Boys Game will tip-off on Wednesday, April 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET from Chicago’s United Center and will be broadcast on ESPN. The 12th Annual Girls Game will precede the Boys Game, beginning at 7 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on ESPNU. Information regarding tickets for the 2013 McDonald’s All American Games is available at Ticketmaster. Tickets for the 2013 Games go on sale January 19 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Tickets start at $10 and include free parking. There is also the popular family four-pack option which includes four tickets, four soft drinks and four hot dogs – all for $53.

Net proceeds from the Games will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The Games have raised more than $10 million for RMHC since its inception in 1978.
