We start the summer off with some Little League baseball action, and Weston's Kevin Eapen and Jack Barry won their respective leagues Most Valuable Player Awards after leading their teams to Little League championship titles. With his strong pitching, Eapen led the Mets to the National League crown, while Barry helped seal it for the American League Twins with his timely offense.
The Red Sox of the AAA League also won their championship.

Well, two of Weston's most prolific high school athletes were the talk of the town and the state this past week.

Senior Will Spector won the state tennis title, defeating two-time Central Mass. champion Chris Ellis of St. Johns (Shrewsbury), 6-3, 6-3. Spector also beat longtime friend and rival Aaron Revzin of Needham, 6-1, 6-3, in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, junior Olivia Brackett was the state's top runner in the Emerging Elite two-mile run at the New Balance Outdoor National Track Championships in Greensboro, N.C. Brackett finished fourth overall in a time of 11:14.07.
