Weston Girls Cross-Country Gets to Second Place at Bowdoin XC Classic

The Weston girls finished second in a competition held in Wappinger Falls, N.Y.

Despite hot and humid conditions in upstate New York last weekend, Weston runner Olivia Brackett had a comfortable victory on a challenging hilly course.

Brackett came in first for the girls in a 5K run, with a time of 19:53.51.

Weston narrowly lost a tremendous team battle with nationally ranked (34) La Salle Academy, R.I. by 58 pts to 66.

Additional team scorers for Weston were Charlotte Walmsley (3), Abigail Pohl (10), Zoe Snow (20) and Edom Wessenyeleh (32).

The Weston Boys team came in 12th out of 26, led by junior Matt Herzig.

The Weston teams will return to Bowdoin Park for the Nike Regional Qualifier in November.
