Fall is a Good Time to Think About Summer

It may seem too early to make summer plans, but it is just the right time.

It seems like just yesterday that we were lapping the sunscreen on our children, piling the towels, chairs and toys in the car and heading to the beach. As the leaves slowly drift to the ground, and we begin to prepare for Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holiday celebrations, it is hard to believe that NOW is the perfect time to start thinking about summer again.

Many of you have made the decision that this will be the summer to send your child to sleepaway camp for the first time, or it will be a great opportunity to visit camps in preparation for enrolling your child for the summer of 2016. Or, perhaps you have an older child who is not thinking about camp, but would like to have a new experience traveling or enrolling in an academic summer program. There are so many options and fall is the time to consider them.

Many programs will offer early enrollment discounts, which certainly is enticing. In addition, there is nothing worse than deciding on a summer program, only to find out that it is full and you have to now consider an alternative option.

Choosing a summer program can be overwhelming for some since there are so many options out there. How often do you wish you could speak with a real person to ask a few specific questions about your child’s summer? What questions should you ask when choosing? What is age appropriate? What questions should you ask the program directors?

Everyone is asking neighbors, online chat rooms and rating websites where to send their child to camp. But what is right for them may not be right for you! Why not ask a real person, whose advice is free, whose company has visited over 400 camps and who has information, insights and guidance not available in a brochure or on a website? There is no time like the present.
