Scouting for Food [VIDEO]

Weston Boy Scouts are seeking food donations.

Editor's note: This article was submitted by Craig Tanny.

The Weston Scouts will have their annual food drive November 5th 2011 – rain or shine.  The Cub Scouts will be dropping off donation bags during the week prior to the collection.  The non-perishable food and other donations will be brought to A Place To Turn in Natick.  Last year the Scouting for Food drive donated 1375 bags of donated food and non-perishables - over 5 tons of donations.  The donated food goes primarily to our neighbors in Natick, Marlborough, and Framingham.  The need for these donations has never been greater.  This summer the food pantry was nearly out of food.  The Scouts donations will stock the food pantry for several months.  There will be a drop box at  store in the center of Weston if you are not available to leave your donations out by your mailbox on November 5th.  Thank you Weston for your support!

The donations that are most desired are peanut butter, jelly canned spaghettis, canned chicken.  Also needed is dry pasta, beef stew, dry & canned soup, canned vegetables & fruit, macaroni and cheese. Side dishes, beans, cereal, lunchbox snacks, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, deodorant, soap & brushes, shaving products, feminine hygiene products and diapers.
