Weston 300 Founder's Day Parade and Festival on Saturday

Weston, are you ready for a parade?

The community will come together on Saturday, Oct. 5 for the Weston 300 Founder's Day Parade and Festival. Here's all the information you need to know about the event via the Town of Weston:

Schedule

Noon – 2 p.m.  Founders Day Parade

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Founders Day Festival

3 p.m. – Weston 300 Town-wide Photo


Founders Day Parade


The Parade will feature marching bands, dance troupes, police and fire apparatus, antique cars, historic floats, fifes and drums, militia, athletes, scouts,  horses, and more!  Come join the fun!

Join the parade!

It's open to everyone who is interested in participating. The application can be found at the bottom of the page, along with detailed information for participants. Meet at the Department of Public Works by 11 a.m.  

Walkers, bikers, children,  and pets are welcome.  Children are encouraged to decorate their bikes!  The parade route is along Boston Post Road, about one mile long, and will conclude about 2 p.m., rain or shine!

Prefer being a Spectator?  
Bring your lawn chair and find a seat along Boston Post Road.  The Parade will start at noon on Golden Ball Road, and proceed up Boston Post Road to the Town Green.  The Official Reviewing Stand is at the Town Green. Parade route and site plan is below.

Founders Day Festival

The Festival will be on the Town Green from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be bands, refreshments, re-enactments, old fashioned games, face painting, pumpkin decorating,  pie contests, and more.  Be part of the Town Green Celebration saluting our Tercentennial year!  Be sure to stick around for Square Dancing at 3:30! See Community Events and Weston300.org for additional information.

Weston 300 Historic Trail Trek has been created for this day. Starting at the Golden Ball Tavern, walk this famous path to visit the most historic sites in Weston. Visit the Central and Farmers Cemetery, the Fiske Law Office, the Josiah Smith Tavern, and the First Parish Church.  Hear history come alive!

Town-wide Photo

Be part of history!  There will be a Town-wide, aerial photograph taken on Saturday, Oct. 5, on the Town Green. EVERYONE from Weston is invited to be in the once-in-a-lifetime photo. Cram onto the Green at 3 p.m. for the photo and it will be in Weston’s archives- forever!

Parking and Road Closures

Parking will be challenging so please car-pool, drop-off, or bike.  Boston Post Road will close between 11:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m., from Golden Ball Road to School Street.  This will naturally limit access to-or-on the following streets:

  • Church Street
  • Centre Road
  • Concord Road
  • Golden Ball Road
  • Conant Road
  • Colpitts Road
  • Linwood Road
  • Jones Road
  • Warren Avenue
