Massage Therapist Opens Shop in Weston

Maureen Byrne decided it was time to settle practice into a "home," and Weston seemed the right place.

Maureen Byrne discovered her love of massage therapy via a rather traumatic route. Her now pre-teen son was born prematurely at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Byrne said the hospital likes to keep parents of preemie babies busy with a variety of classes and seminars. In Byrne's case, one of those classes was infant massage. When her son made it home from the hospital, Byrne practiced what she'd learned on him and found that he slept "perfectly," and didn't suffer from colic or other common infant maladies. "He was always pleasant, always happy," said Byrne, sitting now, more than a decade later, in her new Weston Massage Therapy studio at 104 Boston Post Road in Weston.
