Weston Track Athletes Shine in Holiday Qualifier

The Weston boys and girls track athletes didn't take a break during their winter vacation from school.

A few dedicated Weston High School sprinter/jumpers decided to compete over the vacation in the Holiday Qualifier, an all-comers meet that provides an opportunity for sprinters/jumpers to get a good time on the fast Reggie Lewis track in Boston. For the girls, senior Kayla Lawrence made the best of her experience, winning the Long Jump with a season-best 16’ 10” and finishing second in the 55-Meter Dash with a time of 7.83. Lawrence's Long Jump was a top 15 in Massachusetts performance. Also performing well for the girls, sophomore Brianna Schwartz won her 55M heat (8.04) and finished eighth overall.
