Lunch Menus for Weston Schools: May 13 - 17

We have lunch menus for the Field School, Country School, Woodland and Weston Middle.

Students at Weston's schools will be served the following the week of May 13 -17. Nutrition information is available for each day's menu on the Weston Schools website. Menu at Field School: May 13: Popcorn Chicken, Italian Vegetables, Peaches, Scooby Cinnamon Grahams, Milk. Weston Schools Adjusted Bus Drop-Offs for Nov. 2

Superintendent Cheryl Maloney has sent out a list of adjusted drop-off spots for buses this afternoon.

The roads are clearing up around Weston, but there are still some impassable spots. Superintendent Cheryl Maloney has released a list of adjusted bus routes and drop-off spost for Nov. 2. Below is her note to Weston families: Fortunately, most town roads are now clear. However, ongoing issues with downed wires and trees continue in pockets throughout the Town. We have temporarily modified some bus routes as a result for Friday, based on known conditions as of 3:30PM Thursday. Below are the modifications for Friday, November 2. School Closed for the Third Day

Superintendent Cheryl Maloney sent an early-morning message to families.

Superintendent Cheryl Maloney closed school for a third day today. In the message she said there was not enough progress made on the roads overnight. The Weston Public Schools will be closed Tuesday [sic.] due to power outages and dangerous road conditions throughout Town caused by downed trees.  There was not enough progress was [sic.] made on the road cleanup overnight.

Weston Schools Closed Tuesday

Weston Public Schools will be closed for a second straight day due to Hurricane Sandy.

Weston schools will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to continuing effects of Hurricane Sandy. The schools will be closed a second straight day "due to power outages and dangerous road conditions throughout Town caused by downed trees," according to Weston Superintendent Cheryl Maloney.

Weston Public Schools Cancelled on Monday

With the storm approaching, school has been cancelled.

Weston schools will be closed for the day on Monday, Oct. 29, due to the impending storm, school officials announced late this afternoon. "Weston Public Schools will be closed tomorrow due to the impending storm and the prediction of dangerous winds. Stay Safe," was the message from Superintendent Cheryl Maloney which went out on Weston Grapevine around 4:30 p.m. Hurricane Sandy is expected to be at its worse tomorrow afternoon, and Gov. Deval Patrick at a press conference this afternoon requested all schools, public and private, be closed Monday. Additionally, he's asking that private companies allow their employees to stay home. 1. Today is Columbus Day, which is a holiday for some but not for others. 2. Town offices are closed today. 3. School is closed also. 4. There are no meetings tonight on the agenda for tonight, but the meeting schedule is sparse this week. 5. Remember, Weston High School students may be able to sleep later beginning next year.

Support Weston Teachers on World Teachers' Day

Give back to local teachers by celebrating World Teachers' Day on Oct. 5.

  World Teachers' Day, celebrated on Oct. 5, is a great opportunity to show teachers in Wellesley how great you think they are. But, the day also takes on a deeper meaning, standing for the protection of teachers' rights. Since its inception in 1994, World Teachers' Day has had a theme every year. The theme for 2012 is “Take a stand for teachers.” This day was founded by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Its aim is to educate the public about the conditions of being a teacher around the world, focusing specifically on the protection of teachers' rights, and the proper training, development and status raising of teachers. Weston Cable Station to Air Interviews with School Principals, Administrators

Along with this new content, Wellesley Media Center is launching QR codes and a new app to watch the videos.

The Weston cable station has developed a new app and some QR codes to go along with video interviews with school administrators. Weston Media Center has launched a new app and a series of QR codes which each link to Weston channel programming. The codes are available at the town’s website. Also, the channel will air taped interviews with Weston Public School principals and administrators beginning Sept. 22. The interviews, taped this summer, feature educators talking about their goals for this academic year, according to information on the town’s website.
