An investigation authorized by the Board of Selectmen in 2007 determined that replacing Weston’s Police Station is more cost effective than renovating the existing building. The Board of Selectmen will be appointing a Police Station Study Committee and would like to hear from Weston residents who are interested in serving on this committee to work with members of the Permanent Building Committee, and the Police and Fire Departments on planning for the replacement of the Police Station. Work will include confirming the program and findings of the previous feasibility study, identifying site issues and opportunities, and studying the feasibility and desirability of constructing a Public Safety building, which would include some or all the operations of the central Fire Station. Residents who have knowledge of police operations or are licensed builders, registered architects, or engineers are encouraged to apply.
